Arrival to Yellowstone National Park

Proud ElkProud Elk Today we arrived to Yellowstone National Park. Since my computer is still packed I am posting a photo of a bull Elk I took a few years ago from here. I am posting this from my phone. My computer is still packed because upon arriving to our campground we learned a bison had been killed by wolves in Lamar Valley so we immediately jumped in our car and took off.  We found the sight but it was a great distance and only coyotes were eating it. I was hoping for wolf or grizzly bear sightings but no luck. The wolves usually make the kill and then the grizzly bear shows up. When the wolves and bear are not at the kill the coyotes, ravens and eagles feast. After a few hours of waiting we took off and drove to the edge of the park and back through Lamar Valley. We'll be here for 2 weeks and hope to have other opportunities to see wolves.  Arrived back to the campground at dusk, spent time getting our RV set up, had an early dinner and made it an early night.
